Welcome to Saba.
Saba is ideal for the traveler looking for a secluded haven, in peaceful and friendly surroundings.
Located in the Caribbean, Saba (pronounced "SAY-ba") is the smallest island of the Netherlands Antilles. Like many islands, Saba is a volcano, Mount Scenery (888 m). The dormant volcano is the highest point of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Tiny Saba is 13 square kilometres (5 square miles) large, and has around 1,400 inhabitants. Major settlements include The Bottom, Windwardside, Hell's Gate and St. Johns. English is the principal language spoken on the island, despite the island's Dutch affiliation.
English is the dominant language used in Saba's school system. The Saba University School of Medicine is the hub of education on the island. Formed by a partnership with the Netherlands government and American expatriates, the school is a major provider of healthcare for local residents.
